The 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment Association exists to preserve the proud legacy of the Blackhawks, connect former and current troopers, and support our community through reunions, communications, and shared history.
Who We Are
The 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment traces its origins back to 1833, making it one of the oldest continuously serving units in the United States Army. Originally formed as part of the Regiment of Dragoons, the unit evolved through horse cavalry, armoured cavalry, and modern reconnaissance operations. Over generations, the squadron has served with distinction in the Mexican War, the Civil War, World War II, the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and numerous peacetime and contingency operations. Today, the Association ensures that this proud legacy is never forgotten.
